In November 7-10 in Lisbon was held Web Summit – one of the largest conferences in IT, since 2009 annually.
The concept and the company were founded by Paddy Cosgrave, David Kelly and Daire Hickey. The topic of the conference is centered around Internet technology year by year. In 2016 the summit was attended by over 50 thousand participants from all over the globe. Exhibitors from all over the world. The main topics were the content, marketing, SaaS, autotech, future societies etc.
TaxFree4U also took part in the summit, where presented the product, share news and latest. We are happy to participate in the event where we got inspired and found out where we go and what are trends in the modern market.
PORTUGAL loves START-UPS
It was so great. It felt like a marathon to the technology: more than 50 000 people from 160 countries, investors, analysts, start-up presentations, contests and so on.
The meeting participated more than 600 speakers from Facebook, Amazon, Cisco, Google, Mindshare, Tinder, Y Combinator, Eventbrite, Linux, Booking.com, Volkswagen, social workers, politicians and many others.
The organization level was on top.
All details were taken into account – food courts, registration, volunteers` work, logistics, performance, graphics and others.
You could see the central scene, where the world leaders of technology sector and other experts of the industry were giving their speeches. In the business lounge you could meet investors with start-ups, newly founded companies which presented their projects on the pitch. The large companies have organized a seperate platform, where they presented their products and were making presentations, there was even a small soccer field for the kids to play around, while their parents were engaged in important issues.
Startups which were presented at the Web Summit 2015 raised more than $ 1 billion in funding jointly. The event positioning itself as a meeting people at the highest level, which build up great companies. One day they will become one of the most powerful in the world so the plan on raising funding for 2016 was more than what is really implemented.
One of the most interesting parts of the Web Summit program were pitches. Would-be entrepreneurs got a chance to promote their projects to investors and get funding, and that’s what did TaxFree4U make.
