Despite the age-old title of trendsetter, France is in no hurry to please shopaholics with large-scale discounts. “Buy French” is offered at normal prices, as they say, focusing on boniteness and quality. Sales here are quite modest – last about a month, and prices though fall, but they are far from Italian or Spanish binge, but here the service for VAT refunds TaxFree4U comes to the rescue.

What, Where and When in France?

Winter sales in France start in the very beginning of January – the exact terms depend on the region. Nice invites all buyers to low prices on January 2, the sale will end in a month, in early February. Sales in Paris start from the second Wednesday of January and continue until mid-February. The first “dump” of prices reaches 20%, then one more – up to 50%, and the third – up to 70-80% – is rarely applied.

Summer sales in France begin in the twentieth of June and last until the end of July. The start is also unified for the entire country, but some regions are slightly ahead of or, on the contrary, slightly late in comparison with official terms.
