TaxFree4U Company has interviewed passengers at the Boryspil International Airport of Ukraine (Kiev) to understand the market opportunities for Tax Free returns of the largest country neighboring with the EU.
63% of Ukrainians who travel abroad do not return Tax Free from foreign purchases.
The half of those who do not return (32%) do not know about this possibility at all, and the second half considers the service too difficult, expensive and not worth time wasting (31%).
More than thirds of the total number of respondents (37%) at least one time got back VAT for purchases they made in Europe. Most of them use TaxFree-operators services or TaxFree-services, preferring to receive funds at the airport before departure.
A quarter of the respondents had gained an experience of Fax Free refund with no middle service. (This procedure differs depending on the country.
That is the results of a survey conducted in February 2017 at the Boryspil International Airport by TaxFree4U in the partnership with the Department of Sociology, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
428 respondents took part in the survey. Most of them are citizens of Ukraine (93%), who often go abroad. The average age of the respondents is 38 years.
The results of the questionnaire showed the great potential of the Ukrainian market for the online Tax refund service TaxFree4U, which offers a simplified VAT refund procedure using a smartphone and credits the highest return amount.
TaxFree4U is the only VAT refund service from all available to Ukrainians, which has a representative office in Ukraine.
